Hello Ferris
In a way, I agree with you. There have been always design research and design or
design research is not behind, and even has something ahead of other fields (what
i refer to as the jewels in the crown and why i look forward to Chris mapping).
However, what has lagged behind, I must stress, is sufficient ARTICULATION of
what we understand about the jewels: design as inquiry. And here, I must say
people from Design Research have done quite some work trying to advance this
articulation. And I sympathize with Jonas expression about 'colonization' because
I think these people deserve recognition, if not by others, but by us within
Design Research. I really don't understand why people in Design Research cannot
claim their rights to intellectual property.
And here, I must take issue with you about lemmings. I didn't know this word, I
had to look it up. Nice description! Thank You! I happened to have thought about
the issue about design as inquiry a little bit, and have written about this as
part of my thesis. Please be my guest, tear it apart if you might. Ken, your
chance to open fire!!!
A dissertation being read and torn apart is better than a dissertation never
read. I take my chance...I always do. I am with Ferris, I try to live a little.

Your Grasshopper. Your Lemming. Your Spider on the web. Your Odd ball
Thanks Gentlemen!!! ... I must be doing a lot to deserve all these. My mom is
very proud of me.
