Dear Colleagues:
If the metal (i.e., raw material) cost outweighs the value of the
coin, they will disappear. It seems to be happening in the Philippines now.
In the Japanese context, I am sure the one Yen coin, with similar
value of one cent, costs more to manufacture but the metal price is
less than one Yen.
