British Television Drama and US Imports: Aesthetics, Institutions,
Histories.
A one-day symposium at the University of Reading, Friday 24 March 2006.
Organised under the auspices of the AHRC-funded research project “British
TV Drama and Acquired US Programmes 1970-2000” and the Centre for
Television Drama Studies, this event will focus on the relationships
between British and US television in an age of globalisation, including
how the aesthetics, institutions and viewing practices of British
television are affected by the import of television drama from the USA.

The symposium will be held at the Department of Film, Theatre &
Television, at the Bulmershe Campus of the University of Reading on Friday
24 March 2006.
Registration will take place in the foyer of Bob Kayley Studio Theatre on
the Bulmershe Campus between 10.00 and 10.20 a.m. Full details of how to
get to the Bulmershe campus by bus, rail, road, taxi and air are given on
the University of Reading website, along with maps.
If you need accommodation, the University has a limited number of rooms
available, but there are plenty of guesthouses and hotels offering bed &
breakfast near the University. Full details of both types of
accommodation are also given on the University website.
