We offer innovative undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
taught through a combination of theory and practice. The Department
has an RAE rating of 5 for research and has an established reputation
for excellence in teaching. We are seeking an outstanding individual
for a major role in the development of our work in Film Studies.
Applicants should have a PhD and be active researchers.
The Department’s emphasis is on close analysis, cinema history and
critical approaches to a wide variety of film forms. It seeks a Lecturer
to research in film, to teach across all three years of the
undergraduate programme and to contribute to MA teaching and PhD
supervision. Candidates with interests in any aspect of Film Studies
will be considered, though expertise in film documentary, British,
European or non-Western cinemas, or avant-garde film would be an
advantage.
