4th & 20th July - HOW TO COST NEW SERVICES AND/OR PROJECTS, LONDON
This brand new CILIP workshop is a comprehensive 2-day course that will teach participants a range of techniques to develop costings for new projects or initiatives.
The course will cover:
· key deliverables, milestones and success measures for new projects
· how costs change with levels of activity
· costing calculations for wages, premises, equipment and support costs
· identifying unit costs for value for money purposes
· and much more!
5th July - TEACHING LARGE GROUPS, LONDON
Develop the skills and attitudes required to design and deliver interactive lectures and presentations to large groups.
Participants will:
· gain an understanding of the principles of designing successful sessions to large groups
· design a session aimed at a large group
· identify a range of strategies for ensuring that their sessions are interactive and effective
10th July - PRODUCING EFFECTIVE PROMOTIONAL LITERATURE, LONDON
Learn invaluable tips and techniques for producing promotional materials that will help you spread the word about your services.
Participants will:
· consider the habits of their readership and what is likely to appeal to them
· explore ideas for producing an effective publicity campaign
· receive tips on visual impact of literature
· consider different styles for brochures and how to improve response
12th & 13th July - MANAGING PROJECTS IN THE LIBRARY & INFORMATION CONTEXT, LONDON
This two-day workshop is designed for those who are new to project management and wish to understand the general principles and techniques and apply these to real workplace projects within the library and information field.
Participants will:
· examine a range of project management tools
· apply a number of project management techniques to work-based projects
· produce a project plan
· explore the factors to consider when putting together and managing a project budget
· get an overview of issues affecting team-building and delegation
· use problem-solving techniques
