Apologies if this issue has been worked out already...

Just tested this from home tonight. I was forced to register a 
ScienceDirect profile (along with my e-mail address) against an Athens DA 
session. Then I chose "My Profile" -> "Modify Personal Details and 
Preferences", and entered my Refworks group code, ID and password in the
relevant subsection.

Coincidentally, I'd also registered a new Refworks profile against an 
Athens DA session (I actually used the same Refworks credentials as my 
classic Athens credentials, without any conflict).

Scopus has a separate section for Refworks under "My Profile" and it also 
works seamlessly too now.

CSA, on the other hand, required a speedy intervention when prompted by 
the following message, displayed all too briefly before looping back to 
the CSA export page again:

I managed to click the "If this didn't work..." link second time around
and the export worked when I clicked through the Athens log on link.

Literature Online worked seamlessly during the same session.

BTW: The Refworks group code is your Athens site ID number -- this may 
be the key to cracking the problem.

Dominic, sounds as though you are using the classic RefWorks login and not
the Athens-authenticated version of RefWorks, as Elsevier have confirmed to
me that this will not work.

I tested ScienceDirect last night using a Classic Athens session from
home. I did manage to export a record to Refworks successfully, after
some to-ing and fro-ing with the signing on procedure. If I remember
correctly, I had to click through an Athens login link when Refworks
opened. As I had an Athens session already running I was then prompted
to log on with my Refworks username and e-mail address. Sorry, I'm a bit
hazy on the actual steps but the point is, the export worked.

Curiously, after I finished my session I received an e-mail from
Refworks that included my login details. I didn't think I had requested
it but, perhaps inadvertantly, I had.

I recently got Elsevier to admit that it was their problem. They are
looking at it, but as of two weeks ago the answer was 'No time soon'. I
intend to keep pressing them though, as it is very misleading. It is the
same with classic Athens accounts

Dear all
 
I posted this request to lis-ukeig last week and a respondent suggested
I also try lis-e-journals, apologies to those subscribers on both lists.

 
Is anyone else having a problem exporting references from ScienceDirect
to RefWorks using AthensDA? King's College and University of Bolton
replied to the earlier post to say they do, and are having no luck
getting a resolution either.
Our users get a "Your session has now been terminated" message on a
screen from Athens.
We reported the problem to CSA, Elsevier and Athens a while ago but they
all point the finger at each other.
