WILEY-VCH to launch physica status solidi RRL – Rapid
Research Letters:
The market leader in extremely short publication times in
the area of solid state physics
Weinheim, Germany, November 21, 2006 – WILEY-VCH today
announced the launch of physica status solidi RRL – Rapid
Research Letters, the latest member of the renowned
journals cluster physica status solidi.
The journal’s mission is the ultra-rapid publication of
new, important and peer reviewed results in all fields of
solid state physics, materials science, and
interdisciplinary areas, from basic science to applications
and devices. It will focus on findings with a high degree
of novelty as well as other results of immediate interest
to the scientific community.
physica status solidi RRL - Rapid Research Letters will be
the fastest peer-reviewed publication medium in solid state
physics. As explained by the Editor-in-Chief Martin
Stutzmann, "the main asset of the journal is the so far
unchallenged speed. On the average, only two weeks are
needed between the electronic submission of a manuscript
and its online appearance on Wiley InterScience. The
particular advantage of fast publication without
compromising on the quality of a transparent and strict
review process has already been recognized by active
scientists from all over the world." The Editor-in-Chief is
supported by a global team of distinguished Editorial Board
members, among them Shuit-Tong Lee, Hong Kong; John
Robertson, Cambridge; Michael S. Shur, Troy; James S.
Speck, Santa Barbara; and Christian Thomsen, Berlin.
pss RRL will target physicists, materials scientists,
crystallographers, chemists and device engineers, all
dealing with basic or applied research as well as those
teaching in solid state physics and materials science.
physica status solidi RRL – Rapid Research Letters is
available in print and online via Wiley InterScience
(http://www.interscience.wiley.com), Wiley’s dynamic online
publishing platform.
The first issue is now accessible (http://www.pss-
rapid.com) and comprises a very balanced collection of 15
Rapid Research Letters from five continents on a broad
range of topics such as nanocrystalline and composite
materials, ferromagnetism, phase change access memories,
organic electronics, and solar cells. More accepted
articles will be continuously added to the internet edition
of the journal.
Complimentary online access is available to all
institutions throughout 2007. Ask your librarian to
register at http://www.interscience.wiley.com/newjournals.
