We have a single flint preserved ammonite in the museum collection at the British Geological Survey, Keyworth. It is BGS RM 3032, identified as Parapuzosia (P.) leptophylla from the M. coranguinum or M. testudinarius Zone in the Canterbury area. It was collected by R V Melville.
Regards,
Mike.

Subject: flint ammonites?
Hi everyone,
I've just received an enquiry about flint ammonites. We don't have any in our collection. Can anyone else help? I understand they are as rare as honest estate agents but I know of one in the Isle of Wight collection, so there must be more.
Regards to all
