I believe you can do it like this:
If your file is called data70
avwsplit data70.nii tempData //this will make 70 individual nii files,
named tempDataXXXX.nii each containing 1 volume
rm tempData006* //get rid of those last 10
datasets
avwmerge -t data60 tempData*.nii //this will merge the remaining
individual 60 datasets into a 4D volume called data60.nii
rm tempData* //this will get rid of the
remaining individual volumes
There may be a more elegant way..

I converted freesurfer diffusion data into fsl (.nii) data using
mriconvert. I performed eddy current correction and am now trying to
run dtifit on the data. This is not going so well. The bvecs file and
the bvals file has 60 values, dtifit believes the image data has 70
volumes. The last 10 of these 70 are useless. Is there a way to modify
the image data to only have the first 60 volumes? I am fairly new to
fsl; any help would be useful.
