Yes, I have seen Privato, which is certainly a daring and intriguing project (it is Costanzo's first feature, shot on location in Gaza, with a cast of Israeli and Palestinian actors), but I would hesitate to say that it is a "better film" than La bestia del cuore. AOH

Not that I have any say so about this, but from having seen "La bestia
nel cuore", I'm thinking that "Privato" might have been a better film,
though I haven't seen "Privato". Have you?
Mary
Yes, La bestia nel cuore became the Italian nomination for the 2006
Academy Awards when Privato (Private), directed by Saverio Costanzo
(Italy's original nomination) was disqualified because the dialogue
track is in Arabic and Hebrew, not Italian.
A.
Thanks for all the response (Jon, Luigi, and Aine). I saw the film on
DVD just a few nights ago and I wondered if anyone had seen it in the
US. I believe you're right that it hasn't been released yet (in the
US). I have heard that it is going to be the Italian nomination for the
Academy Awards.
Mary
> Yes, its directed by the daughter of a famous Itialian director (both
names escape me), but I think the film is an adaptation of a book that
the daughter wrote. The film translates as 'The Beast in the Heart'

>I'm wondering if anyone here has heard of the recent Italian film, "La
Bestia Nel Cuore". It's going under the English title of "Don't Tell",
but that's not a translation of the Italian title.
