Just a query - why do you need these scenes?
Maybe I'm weak stomached but I'm intrigued as to what you plan to
write / do about this topic and what theoretical / critical valence it
might have. In theoretical terms I'm thinking of Lacan's discussion in
Seminar XI of the 'burning child' dream - burning with the Real.
That said I can't help also adding Silent Hill, which uses the same
horrible scene of suspected witch lowered by ladder face down into fire
(or just above in this case to roast) that occurs in Witchfinder
General (relying on memory).
