What is Philosophy?
A One Day Symposium
Saturday, 24th June 2006
Centre for Research in Philosophy and Literature
University of Warwick
This one day symposium will bring together a philosopher, an artist
and a scientist to discuss the different modes of practice with which
they are creatively engaged in their field of expertise. We will seek
to critically relate these accounts of practice to the models
proposed by Deleuze and Guattari in What is Philosophy? The symposium
is the culmination of a six month research project in which students
and specialists from Warwick and different universities throughout
the world discuss, in seminars and on the Internet, the traditions of
art, philosophy and science, and the inter-relation between them.
Each speaker will give an hour long presentation followed by a
response from a specialist in the field of philosophy, after which
the floor will be given over to discussion.
