"I seek a film that stirringly celebrates a strong woman, and not as a labor
activist (as in Norma Rae, Silkwood, Erin Brokovich and North Country) "
It's very difficult to find feminist films. Strong women are not
necessarily feminists, although Thatcher once had the audacity to describe
herself as such. How about Ripley's character in Alien or Clarice Starling
in The Silence of the Lambs? A true 'feminist' film would be a film where
neither gender would be portrayed as being superior/inferior to the other,
and where characters act as individuals regardless of gender. How about
'Profondo Rosso' by Dario Argento?
