And they still keep coming:
#1: Koji Wakamatsu's GO, GO, SECOND TIME VIRGIN and João César Monteiro's
GOD'S COMEDY.
#2: Niki Caro's NORTH COUNTRY.

There is a splendid scene of a young radical pissing on the feet of a statue
of the Virgin Mary in Philippe Garrel's LES AMANTS REGULIERS (best film of
last year, this year, most years). Less explicit but highly endearing scenes
of women pissing also occur in Garrel films LA NAISSANCE DE L'AMOUR and
J'ENTENDS PLUS LA GUITARE.
I haven't seen it in ages, but Makavajev's SWEET MOVIE has some choice
'transgressive' pissing, as I recall, courtesy of a way-out bunch of
'anti-psychiatry'-style performance artists. Claire Denis was assistant
director on this film and tells hilarious tales of having to live with the
body-liberated artistes in their commune for the sake of the filming.
There's much pissing in Tsai Ming-liang's films (fairly discreetly staged
and shot), because the characters are drinking water all the time! - see
VIVE l'AMOUR, WHAT TIME IS IS THERE. Water in, water out, water everywhere
...
Jackie Raynal's experimental epic DEUX FOIS from the early '70s has a heroic
scene of the main 'figure' (Raynal herself) unleashing a massive stream of
piss - which then becomes the basis of a hilarious scene in her later NEW
YORK STORY, where a group of critics in New York (including Jonathan
Rosenbaum!) grill her on the symbolism of the scene, and she blurts out: "It
was the only way she could get sexual release!" That's tellin' 'em.
I wouldn't really recommend chasing up the film (because it is possibly the
very worst made in Australia, and it beats out some stiff competition in
these stakes), but a feature called PEARLS BEFORE SWINE from about 5 years
ago has a gruesome scene of defecation (and then the eating thereof), backed
up by quotes from Bataille, Reich, Neitzsche ... this film talks the shit,
and shits the talk.
Good and frank reading on these matters, if you can find a rare copy:
Raymond Durgnat's SEXUAL ALIENATION IN THE CINEMA. The early to mid 70s
really was the era for shitting and pissing in the cinema. After that,
everybody starts reading Deleuze, and the body has no organs anymore.
A more general category: bathroom scenes. Haneke, Ozon, the list is endless
...
