Re: Films about the early film industry
John
Preston Sturges' Sullivan's Travels (1941) with Joel McCrea as John
Sullivan, a wealthy Hollywood director, who goes on the road with only a
dime in his pocket to learn what it is to be poor and in need, is a
wonderful film based around an attempt to make a film called Oh Brother
Where Art Thou? Also stars Veronica Lake as 'the girl' - show it as a
double bill with the Coen Bros.' Oh Brother Where Art Thou and defy any
student to fall asleep!
Best
