You could have a look at Dolphin, L., and Shapiro, S., eds, _Flash
Frames: A New Pop Culture_ which looks at the work of a wide of artists
working in Flash; there is an accompanying DVD, available seperatley,
which shows the animations (both are probably available via Amazon).
There is also a journal, Animation, which may be of interest. The
contents of the first issue can be downloaded from here:

(and if you poke about you'll find some other articles from some other
issues are also available).
