I like
'The Brain is the Screen: Deleuze and the Philosphy of
Cinema' (ed. Gregory Flaxman)
Patrick Fuery's 'New Developments in Film Theory'
(fuck all you haters)
Roland Barthes' 'Camera Lucida' and 'Mythologies' (I
especially like "The Face of Garbo") and some his
interviews from 'The Grain of the Voice.'
Linda Williams' "Film Bodies: Gender, Genre, and
Excess."
But you probably won't get all of the fundamental
texts this way, because nobody here digs that kind of
stuff anymore, such as Laura Mulvey, Christian Metz
(the filmosopher not the transcendental pastor, though
the distinction can be hard to make sometimes), or
even something ancient like Hugo Munsterberg's 'The
Photoplay: A Psychological Study.'
