Malcolm,
We are planning to do as you do, keep students materials available for as
long as possible. I am sure in 3 years time we to will be wondering what we
can archive.

Subject: Course Archive Policies
Hi,
I'm after a quick poll of institutional policies (formal or ad hoc) for
making courses available to students after they have finished them.
Our TLC require us to keep courses on Bb for the lifetime of a student's
study, meaning that after the annual rollover we have to keep a lot of
old courses on the system. E.g. a current third year student will see
all this year's third year courses, plus last year's version of their
second year courses and the previous year's first year courses. The old
modules are "static" in that we block staff from them and students know
that the content won't be updated. It saves a big hit on the printers on
the last day of term, but provides us with a bit of a headache in
deciding when all the students on a given course have finally graduated
or otherwise left the University, so that we can finally write it to
tape and take it off the server.
My short question then: do you just delete/archive off a course
immediately after it's finished, or do you do something similar to us?
Thanks in advance,
Malcolm.
