Archives for London invites you to the next in its series of seminars, to
be held on 5 October 2006 at London Metropolitan Archives.
Room for improvement?
Service assessment – how Comprehensive Performance Assessment and best
value reviews can help archive users and practitioners
This seminar will be delivered by Karen Esson of the Audit Commission and
Paul Bristow of the Museums Libraries and Archives Council.
In partnership with the Audit Commission and other bodies, The Museums,
Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) has been leading a project to develop
performance indicators for local authority museums and archives, which are
currently under-represented within the Cultural Services Block for
Comprehensive Performance Assessment. The proposed indicators would
measure an archive’s performance in such areas as volunteering, value for
money and user satisfaction.
The seminar will give archive practitioners a chance to find out how and if
the proposed developments would affect them, while archive users can
discover how these performance indicators will lead to improved services.
Doors will open at 5.30 and the talk will start at 6pm. Refreshments will
be available. The seminar is an open forum and following the talk attendees
are welcome to ask questions, exchange news, and discuss matters of
interest. The event will finish at 7.30pm.
