The Position:
You will join a global team of nine applications managers with responsibility for supporting, enhancing and developing processes used for the statistical analysis of clinical trial data.
The main responsibilities include:
Technical Support:
* Providing technical support to all users of the Biostatistics Computing Environment in the use of SAS, other third-party software and the in-house developed applications
* Providing consultancy on best practice and efficiency
* Liaising between Biostatistics and global IT for system changes
Training and Documentation:
* Developing and delivering process and technical training for end-users of the system
* Developing and maintaining process and software documentation, including SOPs and TOPs
Software Development:
* Workflow and requirements analysis
* Negotiating implementation strategies with affected users - both within and outside of the Biostatistics department
* Designing, developing and implementing of general purpose software or customisation of existing tools
* Adherence to the established validation processes
Who you are:
To be successful in this role you will have/be:
* 5 years minimum experience in a computer programming, business analysis, or technical support role, preferably in pharmaceutical drug development
* Expert knowledge of the software development process and validation with at least 2 years use of SAS for clinical trials analysis and 1 year with system programming or application management
* Fluent in at least one other programming language (e.g. POSIX, Perl, VBA) preferred
* Experience of UNIX and version control software preferred
* Awareness of recent advances industry technology (electronic submissions, CDISC, MedDRA, etc.) useful
* Detail orientated with the ability to work in a team environment, with good technical writing and communication skills
* International travel will be required (2-3 times per year)
