Role: Senior Programmer - UK - Permanent
Skill desired: 3 years SAS programming experience within the pharmaceutical
or other relevant industry is preferred.
Essential Functions
The Senior Programmer works independently in the programming and quality
control of derived datasets, tables, listings and figures, assists in the
production of analysis plans, provides technical advice to clients and
fulfills the project primary role within a designated project team.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate and lead a project team to successful completion of a
project within given timelines and budget.
* Interact with clients as key contact with regard to programming and
contractual issues.
* Perform QC of derived datasets and both simple and advanced tables,
figures and data listings produced by other members of the department
* Understand regulatory requirements concerning industry technical
standards (e.g., CDISC, 21 CFR Part 11, electronic submissions,
etc.) and the implications for the department
* Produce derived datasets and both simple and advanced tables,
figures and data listings using efficient programming techniques
* Assist in the production of analysis plans, derived dataset
specifications and other process supporting documents
* Coordinate development of client proposal documents
* Represent my client at client marketing and technical meetings
* Check own work in an ongoing way to ensure first-time quality
* Provide advanced SAS and/or relevant technical training to internal
clients
* Proactively participate in and/or lead process/quality improvement
initiatives
* Create standard macros and applications to improve the efficiency
of the department
* Mentor and train junior members of the department
Communication
* Address technical issues effectively with written and verbal
communication
* Explain programming and technical issues effectively to technical
and non- technical staff
Qualifications:
* Degree (undergraduate or equivalent) in a relevant discipline is
preferred, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum Work Experience
* At least 2 years SAS programming experience within the
pharmaceutical or other relevant industry is preferred.
