I should have perhaps drafted my first e mail more carefully. Many thanks to
those who responded about Peyote (which I do know about, I would recommend
Aldous Huxley's "The Gates of Perception" for a vivid account of the effects
of mescaline, without actually taking it)
The question was "Is there such a thing as coyote cactus, and what effects
if any, does it have when ingested"

Subject: Cactus ingestion
I know its the silly season, but a man was admitted to the hospital claiming
to have ingested "coyote cactus"
I suspect that it was peyote cactus, but has anybody out there heard of
this?
Medical databases and Kew Gardens have so far drawn a blank
