I am sure this must have been a well-worn subject before my
time on this list, but what do colleagues quote as a fasting
time for blood tests - glucose, lipids, gastrin etc?
eg 14hrs ; 10hrs ; from 10.00pm night before,or what? Ask 20
healthcare professional and you seem to get 20 (very close
but different)possibilities. Problem is, some GPs seem to
want definitive answers like 10hrs is OK, but 9.75 hours is
no good. Is there a national guideline I've missed?
Thanks, Phil Wills, QEH Woolwich
