the papers of Tappen and Wylie et al. you mention in your reply to Haskel are amongst the ones I meant, but there were several other hints towards termite damage to bones. One was in an article by Achilles Gautier about ichnofossils, I remember, another one about peculier traces by yet unidentified insects by Thomas Kaiser. Anyway, I will check if the references fit into your request and get back to you after my return.
