We have no network issues with Turnitin at Sheffield. The volume of
traffic is trivial in comparison even with the general levels due to
email, web browsing etc. After all, the long-term averaged traffic
level is limited by the rate at which students can produce assignments.
20,000 students producing 5,000 words in, say, a week makes 500Mbytes
- Ok, maybe a few times as much when it's Word files. That extreme case
is equivalent to a few CDs full, and a matter of minutes on a fast link
for a UK university.
