Calling it stealing (and I quite see your point) assumes that
consecrated hosts belong to someone. Clearly, _un_consecrated hosts
belong to the people who bought and paid for them, but if you look at
it a certain way, you could make a case that the Body of Christ
cannot "belong" to anyone except God. I don't know whether
theologists have addressed this question, but it's an interesting
thought.
I did track down the reference, however, and it is not a very
orthodox one: the angel's answer was reported by one of the
visionaries of Garabandal, an apparition series that has not been
well regarded by church authorities.
