medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Lucius:
Saint Lucius was a missionar in the area around Chur (Switzerland). This
area is called "Prättigau" and the inhabitants of this area are called
"Brittani". I have heard that’s why saint Lucius thought to be an
English king. In the treasure of our Überlinger Münster we have a
reliquary ( ca. 1600) of Saint Lucius. This reliquary is a 3/4 bust
showing Saint Lucius with pilgrim hat and over this hat he wears a
crown. In his hands he holds a sceptre and an orb.
