medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Whilst attempting to check the career of that important liturgical scholar
the Rev. Christopher Wordsworth (1848-1938) - this is related to the knotty
question of the existence or otherwise of the Use of Lincoln! - I discovered
that he has no entry in the new Oxford Dictionary of National Biography,
unlike his brother John (1843-1911), Bishop of Salisbury, his father
Christopher (1807-1885), Bishop of Lincoln, grandfather Christopher
(1774-1846), Master of Trinity, not to mention his great-uncle William
(1770-1850). This is also unlike his fellow liturgical scholars, especially
those associated with the Henry Bradshaw Society: J. Wickham Legg, W.H.
Frere and Bradshaw himself. Even the maverick William Maskell is there!
Does anyone know the mechanism whereby this might be put right?
