medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Good day, eh?
Dr Paniello, you might find a review of one
or more of the following helpful in the
formulation of your argument:
Larourette, Kenneth Scott, *A History of
Christianity* or his more expansive
*A History of the Expansion of Christianity*
Knowles, David, and Dimitri Obolensky.
*The Christian Centuries*
Foakes Jackson, F. J., *An Introduction
to the History of Christianity A.D. 590-1314*
Also helpful may be
Mann, H. K., *Lives of the Popes in the
Early Middle Ages*
For the teaching and ideas during this
period, you may wish to refer to
Seeberg, Reinhold, *Text-Book of the
History of Doctrines*
or
Hagglund, Bengt, *History of Theology*
With the possible exception of Hagglund,
these works do not represent the very
latest in research in the area. However
many consider them reliable and helpful.
I'm sure those more recently involved
in medieval studies can provide you with
even more helpful materials.
Regards to all,
Frank
