Postgraduate Research Facilitator
Research Staff grade II: salary £27,929 - £36,959 p.a.
Are you interested in the development of primary care research? The
Department of Primary Health Care is expanding its postgraduate research
training programme and has created a new post of Postgraduate Research
Facilitator to co-ordinate, support and develop this programme. The aim
of the programme is to increase the number of primary health care
workers, from all disciplines, engaged in advanced research and to
improve the quality of their training.
The post is funded by the National Co-ordinating Centre for Research
Capacity Development (NCCRCD), for four years. We would expect the post
holder to spend time developing their own portfolio of research, but
this would be in addition to the prime purpose of the post.
Applicants should have experience as an investigator in primary care
medical research and of the management of research studies, and enjoy
working with and mentoring others. We expect the appointee will have a
good publication record and evidence of the ability to manage external
research funding, and the ability to develop teaching courses in medical
research skills.
Further written information, which will contain details of the
application procedure, is available from Stacey Bell (01865 227091) or

Please quote the appropriate reference BY05027 in all enquiries. The
closing date for applications is 13 December and interviews will be held
during the week beginning 9 January 2006.
