medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
One of the great advantages of Medieval-Religion is its virtually
current Archives, accessible at the list's website announced in the
footer of every message distributed to the list. If one is unsure
whether something were covered in a previous post, one has only to
consult the Archives, which latter are conveniently searchable in a
variety of ways.
As it happens, in the post to which I was referring (the previous one
in the thread "Islam in Medieval Europe") I had identified Bari as
being on the Italian mainland and, specifically, on the Adriatic coast
of Apulia. Others have now served in place of an atlas by pointing out
that this is in (very) south east Italy. To which I would only add:
but not so south east as to be on the heel of the boot.
Best again,
John Dillon
