Dear Colleagues,
There are very few people in the field whose knowledge and experience spans five decades. As one of the few people who have known him throughout this period...from the days when treatment in the UK meant calling in to John Bell & Croyden's all night chemist via Lady Frankau's surgery in Wimpole Street through to the present day with the proliferation of drug services that fit all needs and requirements... I can bear witness to Peter's enthusiasm, commitment and dedication to the cause of providing support and encouragement to all those facing problem's with substance use. He'll be a great loss to the field...but I'm sure this isn't the last we'll hear from Peter...he's not exactly the retiring kind.

Dear all,
It has been my very great pleasure to have known Peter for many years now,
both through his work at Phoenix U.K and also more recently through
Addaction. Peter in addition has donated his time and expertise for some
years to the EFTC, as a Vice President through which he has also
contributed to the field of drug treatment services internationally. I
have had the opportunity, together with some of my staff, to visit 3 of
the modified therapeutic communities, facilitated by Addaction staff,
within the criminal justice system in the U.K. Once again the experience
was valuable and also an example of Peter's goal of excellence.
I hope this is really only semi-retirement.
