Dear SCARF users,
This is the first update on the SCARF user workshop, which will be held
on 1st November between 10am and 3pm.
We are now able to confirm most of the sessions, including a number of
guest speakers, in a slightly revised timetable:

10:30 am - Access mechanisms - registration, software and access via
portals and personal grid certificates (Jens Jenson and Duncan Tooke)
11:15 am - What's available - hardware, software environment, user
applications, current usage, support and future applications (Duncan
Tooke)
11:45 am - Discussion session
12:00 pm - Buffet lunch
1:00 pm - Scientific usage - what SCARF is used for and upcoming
projects (Peter Norreys and Keith Refson, other guest speakers welcome)
1:45 pm - Demo session - portal access and personal development platform
(Lackshmi Sastry and Duncan Tooke)
2:30 pm - Discussion session with coffee
3:00pm - Close
We would be happy to hear from anyone who would like to present a talk
in the Scientific Usage session, or who would be willing to demonstrate
their use of SCARF for developing parallel code in the Demo session.
We would also like to mention that there will be poster boards in the
foyer where tea/coffee and lunch will be served, and groups are welcome
to display posters if they wish to do so. This is on an entirely
voluntary basis.

who can attend to do so!
