Dear SCARF users,
We would like to announce the inaugural SCARF users workshop, which will
be held on Tuesday 1st November in the Atlas Centre at RAL.
The workshop is aimed at all current and future users of SCARF, and is
intended to offer a complete overview of the SCARF service, together
with practical advice suitable for all levels of experience.
The current itinerary is as follows:
10:00 am - Coffee
10:15 am - An introduction to SCARF
10:30 am - Access mechanisms - registration, software, and access via
portals and personal grid certificates
11:15 am - What's available - hardware, software environment, user
applications, current usage, support and future applications
12:00 pm - Buffet lunch
1:00 pm - Scientific usage - what SCARF is actually used for, upcoming
projects
1:45 pm - Demo session - portal access and personal development platform
2:30 pm - Q&A session with coffee
3:00 pm - Close
The workshop is free of charge, though pre-registration is necessary so
that we can organise catering.
