Dear Candida Fenton,
Firstly: Congratulations on your appointment at RSGS.
Secondly: If no-one in the map world takes up your offer one suggestion
I have is, that you turn to industrial museums. Or even more specialist
institutions, such as printing - e.g. The St Bride Institute, in London;
or Reading University's Typography and Design Department [or similar
title]).
Yours sincerely
(Mr) Francis Herbert (Curator of Maps)

Subject: Planvariograph
Dear lis-mappers
By way of introduction, I have recently taken up post as Project Manager
at the Royal Scottish Geographical Society in Glasgow, with the aim of
the project being to make the collections more accessible.
One of the things we have here is a planvariograph. It has been decided
that we no longer have a need for it and as we are short of space, I am
offering it free to a good home although the new owner must uplift it
from Glasgow.
The planvariograph is by 'R&A Rost Wien' and it has a number 25687.
Kind regards
Candida Fenton
