Dear Sarah, Dear All,
I am just reading a book entitled Competence-Based Assessment Techniques:
Shirley Fletcher ( no relation to Sarah!!) Kogan Page: Revised Second
Edition (2000)
It has been written for people who have been given responsibility for
training newcomers into the goals of an organisation they work for. The key
issue addressed here is how we assess and evidence competence and then marry
this up with national standards that are to be met whether in industry or
education. It also covers how to train an assessor, the establishment of
quality assurance systems and finally assessment strategies.
I have found that the text has provided further questions that I need to
address regarding my research topic about the training mentors' actually
receive to help train their student teachers and then the actual day-to-day
practice that actually occurs in secondary schools.
On with the critique...
Best wishes
Rosalind
