medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I should be less cryptic - I tend to make assumptions. Why do I say this? - because this is when the words of present consent are said which constitute the marriage. Priest: do you X take Y to be your wife? Do you Y take X to be your husband? If they both say yes, then that constitutes words of present consent and a valid marriage. The mass which follows is a blessing. Yes? No?
