Just a quickie, for interest and application !
Here's a nice simile/analogy for how to address Human Impacts upon the
environment, Climate Change or any other, and one which most of you will
know:
A beautifully flat pond or lake. Peaceful, tranquil. A splash and a ripple
spreads out. How to stop the ripple, the disturbance, from propagating ?
Place lots of barriers in the way? chase it with boats? throw in more
objects to cancel out the ripples? etc etc..., creating more ripples, then
waves, then choppy, stormy waters, which one then tries to calm ? Perhaps
to drain the water ?(!) Or... to leave the ripple to settle of its own
accord, in its own time, its own way, for the beautifully flat pond or lake
to return, peaceful and tranquil again ?
This is almost all that is needed to get the interested parties of the
Forum's answers/aims correct, and is analogous to spending quiet time away
from people, in Nature, at ANY time of day or night(!) and
listening/feeling, being receptive, and hence determining the discrepancy
between ones thoughts, plans, ideas, and ways of doing things, and those
that "Nature" operates.
This applies to one's personal life, to society, and far beyond...
I hope this becomes of great help to you ALL !!
Best Wishes,
Chris. McCOY
