Numbers are looking good for this year's SoC summer school. It is still
possible to book, although the booking deadline of 12th Aug is fast
approaching. If you have not booked and want to attend I would suggest
that you email myself or Owen Tucker ([log in to unmask]) to reserve
a place - as we have to give bed/meal counts to the caterers very
shortly. If you are waiting for next year's finances it is possible to
reserve a place in this way and send the booking form later, or just
post off your booking form (from the website
http://www.mdx.ac.uk/www/gem/soc2005/index.htm) - now.
WHY SHOULD YOU GO?
Quite frankly it is a not to be missed occasion, as it is an exceptional
programme:
Chris Board's keynote address
Public Access to Maps/Data - a Panel Discussion session on this topic
that will affect us all
Workshops from Adobe, Macromedia, MAPublisher, Laser-scan, Memory-map,
Mapping Worlds
Sessions on GIS, Maps and Literature, Historical Cartography, and The
Way Forward
Quiz Night, Annual Dinner and Socials
Networking - all in the beautiful surrounds of a Cambridge University
college
I hope to see you there,
Cheers
