In the Sarum Use, the Masses of the Sunday within the Octave of the
Epiphany, and of the Octave of the Epiphany, are much the same as that of
Epiphany itself. The Mass you have described is that used for the First
Sunday after the Octave of the Epiphany.
The "Liber Usualis" says of this Mass In excelso throno: "This Mass is
celebrated on the day following the Feast of the Holy Family. But if the
Octave of the Epiphany, Jan. 13th., falls on a Sunday, the Mass of the
Sunday within the Octave is celebrated on the following Saturday, Jan.
19th." and "If the Octave Day of the Epiphany should fall on a Sunday, the
Office is of the Octave, and the Feast of the Holy Family is celebrated on
the preceding Saturday."
The Sarum Use and the Tridentine Rite are therefore counting the Sunday
Masses In excelso throno, Omnis terra, and Adorate in different ways: the
one from the Octave of the Epiphany, and the other from Epiphany itself.
