medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear colleagues,
A colleague of mine is doing research on the politics surrounding the 'translatio' of the body of Saint Thomas Aquinas from to Toulouse in 1369. He has two questions:
1. Does anyone know of an edition of the Officium de translacione beati Thomae Aquino?
2. Does anyone know of any studies which would speak of the affinity of the French royal family, in particular Charles V, for St. Thomas? My colleague has the idea that Charles V was very keen on having the Saint buried in France for political reasons (and might have petitioned Pope Urban V to transfer the body to France).
