Dear colleagues,
My thanks to all those who have already sent in nominations for the 2005
Dagger in the Library Award. This is just a note to say that there are
still 5 weeks to go before the closing date of 1st August - but that
nominations sent earlier than that will be very much appreciated. Just a
reminder of what it's all about -
This Crime Writers' Association award, sponsored by Random House, is
nominated and judged entirely by librarians, although of course many people
seize this opportunity to involve Readers' Groups - you may send in up to 3
nominations per Readers' Group or individual library. Supporting statements
aren't essential, but they are most welcome, and will help the judges make
their decision. As an extra incentive, all libraries whose authors are
short-listed for this award will be entered for a draw for two free tickets
to the CWA Dagger Awards ceremony in London in November, where the winner
will be announced. Any queries can be e-mailed to me or to:

CWA's website - www.thecwa.co.uk Fliers have already been distributed in
editions of the Gazette and PLJ.
I'd be very grateful if this e-mail could be forwarded to other appropriate
colleagues within your authorities
Many thanks,
Judith Rhodes (Chair of Judges, Dagger in the Library)
