Dear All,
The question sometime ago was: 'which journals publish EBM / EBHC
material?' I indicated that I would analyse EBM / EBHC articles on
PubMed and sort the result by number of articles in a given journal.
This has been shown to be more time-consuming than anticipated. I have
since started using Scopus, a new Elsevier resource, where this type of
calculation can is done automatically. The result correlates well with
initial findings on PubMed, but the Scopus figures seem to be more
comprehensive. I would be happy to send the list of the 25 periodicals
with more than 25 EBHC articles to anybody requesting it (it's too large
to be send as an attachment to the whole list).
BTW: Scopus also has a 'cited by' option for source articles, usually
giving slightly more comprehensive (?and current) results than WoK. The
most highly cited EBM/EBCH article on SCOPUS is (of course)
Sackett DL et al. Evidence based medicine: What it is and what it isn't
- It's about integrating individual clinical expertise and the best
external evidence. BMJ; 312 (7023): 71-72 JAN 13 1996
with 1294 cites on SCOPUS and 1143 on WoK.
Any guesses at the number two and three EBHC bestseller?
With best wishes,
Reinhard
