Dear Alan
I suspect that we are all having to answer questions about digitaisation
even if we are not having to do it ourselves - Yet. How many times have you
been asked if your entire map collection or library is on-line and if not,
why not? How many digital projects have been proposed in your institution
recently (here it is almost one a week!)? How often do you use (and help
others with the use of) on-line mapping and images?
We hope that the course will help to demystify the process of digitisation
and provide some useful practical information which will help people to use
digital images, to evaluate digitisation projects and to make realistic
proposals themselves. So the course is much wider than GIS per se.
Does this sound useful?!
