medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Phyllis' source appears to know for certain that which both the (old)
_Catholic Encyclopedia_ and the Bautz _Biographisch-Bibliographisches
Kirchenlexikon_ (BBKL) present as doubtful: Fulbert's Italian birth or
parentage. See their entries for F. at:
http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/06312a.htm
and
http://www.bautz.de/bbkl/f/fulbert_v_c.shtml
As it's irresponsible to pass off as certain that which for a long time
has been widely viewed as questionable, I can only suppose that Phyllis'
source is privy to new argumentation here that I have missed. Does
anyone know what that is? And, Phyllis, what _is_ your source in this
instance?
Best,
John Dillon
