Dear Elena Lemeneva, The pipe organ is the oldest keyboard instrument and
dates from 250 BC and was built in Alexandria, Egypt by Ctesibius (Ktesibios).
There's an excellent article on its history in The New Grove Dictionary of
Music and Musicians. Other good sources are A New History of the Organ by Peter
Williams and The Organ is Western Culture 750-1250 also by Wms. All best,
Marijim Thoene
