believe you need access to the computer desktop so you can eject the stick
safely. Because we don't allow people to access the desktop, they are
having to take out the stick without using the eject button, which
apparently has lost at least one of our customers data.

We allow use of memory sticks etc in Bexley (in fact we sell them!)and have
not experienced any problems yet. Our IT team spend most of their time
working with the public on PN PCs, and they advise,
'Our users can click on the 'eject' icon in the bottom right of the toolbar
which then gives them the option to remove the stick. I have removed the
stick without clicking on this icon and not had any problems losing data,
but all open files must be closed first or data will be lost.'
Hope this helps,
