Hi,
I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a computer program that would allow
allocation concealment of a randomisation sequence for a researcher who
cannot use a telephone randomisation service and would rather not use sealed
envelopes?
I've never heard of such a program but my thoughts are that a program could
be made where you enter a participant's name and date of birth and then the
information is stored and the next group allocation revealed. Once the name
is entered there is no going back and changing it.
Hope that makes sense? I've only thought about this recently in light of
the Hewitt et al paper in BMJ this month where they did not consider the
sealed envelope method adequate for allocation concealment.
Thanks in advance for any help given,
Joel.
