Dear colleagues,
An International Colloquium on Medieval Sacred Monody will be held in
Portugal this coming June 2-5. The last version of the programme, which
supersedes previous ones, is attached in RTF and Word formats (all the
participants named therein have confirmed their presence). Thematic
sessions include "Iberian Monody", "Eastern Christian Chant", "Buddhist
Music", "Manuscript Studies" and "Exploring the Divine Office". Special
presentations by Ruth Steiner, Kenneth Levy and Gunilla Iversen will
enrich the event. Official languages are: English, French, Italian,
Spanish and Portuguese. There is space for six additional papers, to be
presented in two Free papers sessions, on topics related to Medieval
Sacred Monody. We accept proposals for these sessions until March, 30.
These should include a ten-line summary and a short biographical
presentation of the author, and sent by E-mail to
<[log in to unmask]>. A decision concerning acceptance will be taken
until April, 15.
Inscriptions for auditors will be opened in May. We kindly ask you to
forward and publicize this event.
Yours faithfully,
Manuel Pedro Ferreira
