Hi Gregory,
Sorry - maybe I didn't make myself clear, it is possible to suspend
messages using jiscmail. This is the 'temporarily disable mail delivery'
option I mentioned. As far as I know though you cannot set this option for
a set period of time, you just have to log in and uncheck it on your return
from holiday. (I will double check that this is the case.) I realise that
it can be a bit of a hassle but if you are on 20 mailing lists it is
possible to do them all in one go, which is a good thing.
Regards
Marieke

which in essence I entirely agree with. However I do not understand why a
previous service whereby you could suspend rather than cancel a
subscription is not available. Cancelling a posting means you have to
remember to navigate back on your return and id the exact list (plenty of
them in library areas) and re subscribe-get back the confirmation blah
blah...With all the hassle I am not really surprised people don;t bother
(even If I do)especially if they are away for say 4 or 5 days.
>My holiday message for my e-mail can set up for a particular day and
expire the day before I get back or whatever-surely this is a logical step
to avoid some of the log jams (56 auto e-mails when I posted around
Christmas- almost killed my e-mail box)
